Day 1 LUANG PRABANG

Meet upon arrival at Luang Prabang airport and check-in to the hotel.

In the afternoon, visit Vat Visoun temple with its singhalese-style stupa. then, visit the national museum - the former royal palace - (closed on tuesdays) where a collection of artifacts of the Lao royal family is displayed. If the weather allows, enjoy the sunset at a temple located along the Mekong river.

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 2 LUANG PRABANG / PAK OU / LUANG PRABANG   (B/L)

After breakfast, visit Vat Xieng Thong, regarded as the most beautiful temple in Luang Prabang with low sweeping roofs. Then set sail on a traditional riverboat for a 2-hour cruise up the Mekong river to pak ou, at the confluence of the nam ou and mekong river and visit the sacred caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoum, home to hundreds of buddha statues. On the way, visit Vat Longkhoune temple, famous for its 18th century frescoes, and then Ban Xang Hai village and discover the distillation of sticky rice wine. return to Luang Prabang and continue by road to Ban Xang Khong weaving village where traditional mulberry leaf paper is also produced.

Day 3 LUANG PRABANG / KHOUANG SY WATERFALL/ LUANG PRABANG   (B/L)

After breakfast, excursion by road to the picturesque Khouang Sy waterfalls nestled in lush tropical forest. on the way, visit some hill tribe villages to meet H'mong and the Khmu communities. return to Luang Prabang and spend some time strolling through the h'mong market before climbing up phousi hill for an outstanding view over the ancient royal capital and the mekong river.

Day 4 LUANG PRABANG / VIENTIANE   (B/L)

After breakfast there is free time until your transfer to the airport to take your flight to Vientiane. Meet upon arrival, transfer and check-in at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Vat Sisaket, the only original temple in Vientiane (built in 1818 - it is the sole survivor of a Thai invasion in 1828), the Ho Phrakeo, the former Royal Chapel where an Emerald Buddha dating back to the time of the Lane Xang Kingdom was enshrined, the Patouxai and That Luang stupa.

Overnight in Vientiane.

Day 5 VIENTIANE/ HINBOUN   (B/L)

After early breakfast at the hotel, drive along the mekong via the only good road to the south of Laos and cross the wildest region of the country. Stop at Pakxan for a break and sightseeing before continuing the road to sala hinboun hotel, located on the river bank and surrounded by lime cliffs. Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying a boat excursion on the Hinboun river to visit kong lor cave, an impressive 7.5 km long river cave.

Overnight in Hinboun.

Day 6 HINBOUN / SAVANAKHET   (B/L)

After breakfast, drive to savannakhet by a road winding along the mekong and between plantations and hills. en route, stop to visit the ramparts and french colonial houses of thakek, the borderline city with thailand. arrive in savannakhet at mid-day.

In the afternoon visit that ing hang, built by king sumihatham 200 years ago and explore the city and its villas and rich colonial past.

Overnight in sanvannakhet.

Day 7 SAVANAKHET/PAKSE  (B/L)

After breakfast, continue driving to southern laos. Stop at Xepon Kao, a village partially destroyed during the indochinese war and then continue to ban dong, another village used to be on the Ho Chi Minh trails and where american armament still remains.

In the afternoon, continue to Phu Xieng Thong national park and enjoy a short walk in the woods before reaching pakse later in the afternoon.

Overnight in Pakse.

Day 8  PAKSE / BOLOVEN PLATEAU / PAKSE   (B/L)

After breakfast, depart to the Boloven Plateau and stop to visit ethnic communities along the way. Most of them have kept their ancestral animistic beliefs and traditions. Arrive in tadlo on the northern edge of the boloven plateau and discover the seset waterfalls. Visit the surrounding alack and nge tribal villages.

In the afternoon, continue to the fertile region of Paksong. en route, visit a Kaleum village and a tea and coffee plantation. Finally, stop at the impressive tadfane waterfalls before returning to Pakse.

Overnight in Pakse.

Day 9 PAKSE / VAT PHOU / KHONG ISLAND   (B/L)

After breakfast, transfer to the pier and set sail on a traditional riverboat for a 2-hour cruise down the Mekong river to the ancient royal capital of champassak. upon arrival, continue by road to Vat Phou (8 km from the city), a pre-angkorian temple built in the 11th century and classified as a unesco world heritage site since 2002.  

In the afternoon, continue the trip along the Mekong river to Khong Island (approx. 5 hours journey depending on water level). Arrive in khong island before sunset and check-in at your hotel.

Day 10 KHONG ISLAND / KHONE ISLAND/ KHONG ISLAND  (B/L)

After breakfast, board a long-tail riverboat for a cruise through the maze of waterways forming the tropical paradise of siphandone "the 4,000 islands". during the rainy season, the mekong river reaches an incredible 14 km in width and when the water recedes it leaves behind a myriad of islands and islets. visit det and som islands for a glimpse of the traditional life of the local fishermen. Arrive in khone island and discover its colonial heritage including an old railway built by the french 1897 to avoid the powerful rapids disrupting the navigation on the mekong river. Continue to liphi waterfalls before returning to Khong island.

Day 11 KHONG ISLAND / KHONE ISLAND / PAKSE   (B/L)

After breakfast, cross the mekong river and continue by road to the famous Khone Phapeng waterfalls, the largest cascade on the mekong river along its 4,350 km journey from the Tibetan plateau to the South East sea drive back to Pakse.

In the afternoon, drive back to Pakse and visit the city market, one of the largest in Laos.

Overnight in Pakse.

Day 12 PAKSE   (B)

After breakfast, time at leisure until the departure to the airport.
